Treat of the Day: Learning from the younger generation that ending texts with "..." can be interpreted as passive-aggressive. Like, "I'm finished speaking but I have other issues with you!" Oops, nearly all my texts over the past years have ended like that...
Napier was destroyed by the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake, a massive magnitude 7.8 tremor that occurred on February 3, 1931, followed by catastrophic fires. It remains the deadliest natural disaster in New Zealand's history, causing widespread destruction of infrastructure and killing at least 256 people. It's an incredible story of mass destruction and heroic rescues if you'd like to research it further.
The people rebounded and decided to turn the town into an Art Deco haven for their 65,000 residents. It worked and now is a quaint cruise ship stop with a nice walking district with shops and Art Deco buildings everywhere. Aside from the story and the coastal location, there's not much else to see and or do, but they're trying hard!

| Nice walking area with interesting buildings and statues! |
| The smartest move ever outside a knitting store! |
| Black rock beach just next to town. |
| Flowers to add to the quaintness! (It was windy!) |
Back on board it was game time, cards and quiddler, and then lobster dinner with magic tricks by our waiter and huge waves that our kids loved!
| Ask Kevin, so I don't have to mention my 1 point victory secured on the last turn with an awesome Quiddler word: quarreling! This picture taken before that turn, and thus his smirkish smile: ) |
| The waves were slamming against this 3rd deck window! I think Peggy was saying, "it was HUGE!", and Caleb agreed! |
